However it is not to be confused with the famous Padang Padang (aka the Balinese pipeline) which is for advanced and expert surfers only. Bingin (perfect barrel), Impossibles (longest ride of your life), and Dreamland (perfect A-frame left and rights) are also walking distance from the centrally located Bali Surf Camp.
An easy 10-minute drive gets you to world famous Uluwatu or the more mellow Balangan. Within 20 minutes from the camp are various classic right-handers including Nyang-Nyang, Pandawa, Green Balls, Nusa Dua, and Sri Lanka. Kembar Madrawan is from Gianyar Regency in Bali. He started yoga in the year 1983 and begun teaching yoga in the year 1993 in Nusa Dua. Kembar has a passion for yoga and feels the need to pass on his teachings so that everyone can start to feel healthy and discover the many benefits of yoga. Padang Padang Surf Camp Bali prepares delicious fresh organic food and has a chill social vibe. During your stay at the camp, you will be served daily complimentary breakfast and lunch, as well as a barbecue Friday night. Breakfast is between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and lunch is between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The Friday night barbecue will be around 7:00 p.m.
For dinner there are a number of excellent local restaurants within walking distance (Thai, Mexican, Indonesian, Italian).

They specialize in teaching complete newbies who have never surfed before or if you want to progress your surfing quickly then they also offer private surf lessons.

While it is very sociable here and you will go out for dinner as a group regularly, it is important that you know this is not a party camp. They are the sunrise surf camp and typically their first surf session will be at first light. The focus there is very much on surfing.
The highlight of the surfing program is the photo reviews and video reviews where you will receive a technical analysis of your surfing in a classroom environment. Start time for surfing changes every day as the tide varies daily and this will also cause variation in the surfing location and time according to the surfing conditions such as swell size, wind, tide etc. There is typically two surf sessions for both surf lessons and surf guiding groups. This would typically be one session in morning and one session in afternoon or two morning sessions.
The surfing schedule changes daily according to the tidal cycle and other relevant factors. Scheduling is done for first session the night before and second session after first session, as this gives the best data in terms of current and expected surfing conditions. Sessions are typically between one and a half and two hours long.
Your surf instructor will be knowledgeable of the local breaks and the best times to surf them depending on conditions – swell, tide, and winds. He will arrange the best times with you every day to go to the most suitable surf break. He will supervise you in the water and instruct you how to lie on and paddle the board, paddle put to the break, catch waves, stand up and ride. He will also advise you on rips and determine when and where is safe to surf. He will evaluate your surfing technique and advise what improvements you need to make.
All surf equipment is included if you book surf lessons (surfboard, rash vest, leash).
Your surf guide will be knowledgeable of the local breaks and the best times to surf them depending on conditions – swell, tide, and winds. Your surf guide will advise you on where to enter and exit the water, rips, where to line up for waves, positioning etc and will surf with you but will not teach or supervise your surfing. If you require teaching or supervising, then surf lessons is more suitable.
Bali yoga classes – Padang Padang yoga

Types of yoga
Hatha is a general style that encompasses a lot of styles of yoga. It is defined by its slow pace with an emphasis on the breath, making it a more meditative style of yoga. Great for beginners, or older people, who may be looking for gentle ease into the practice of yoga.
Power Yoga is an intensive form of yoga that is fast-paced and is sure to get your heart rate up and make you work hard. It will make you sweat and get the endorphins flowing. Power is perfect for anyone that is looking to improve their strength and fitness with this high-intensity style of practice.
Iyengar is a unique form of yoga that concentrates on the alignment of the postures (asanas). This attention to your posture is important and it allows you to focus and let you understand your bodies better.
Vinyasa (also known as Vinyasa flow) is a form of yoga that strings pose together in coordination with your breath to create a sequence and is one of the most contemporary styles of yoga.
Surfing demands you to be fully in tune with your environment and surroundings as well requiring a high level of focus. The ability to empty your mind of all the clutter and distractions to be present is no easy task. But it is a skill that you will need to master if you are to succeed in the water. Turn on, tune in, or fall off. Many pro surfers like Kelly Slater attribute their surfing success to the benefits that they have gained from practicing yoga (amongst other things).
Yoga is a physical form of exercise and its transferability to surfing cannot be overlooked or overstated. It can be tremendously helpful in strengthening the core as well as improving balance, flexibility, and mobility. These are all things you are going need to be a successful surfer.

Video / photographed sessions
Every morning, you and the team take surfing photos or video and the camp will provide at least two photo / video analysis sessions per week to identify problems with your surfing technique, and propose the solution. Their photographer captures the best of the action for your daily surf report. High-quality video and photos are free and given to you on a disc at the end of your stay.
